broad local support for bible history elective courses
communities gift bible history electives to their local schools
While legal, Bible History classes in our public schools would not be possible without broad community support. Classes are:
- Welcomed by the local education community. Bible History is offered as an elective, only by principals who request to add this course offering. Past data suggests 70% percent of students who attend schools that offer Bible History will elect at least one course while at that school.
- Sustained by a loyal, growing and diverse donor base, who have generously gifted Bible History elective courses for 96 years. There is a growing interest in the community, as reflected by the 97% increase in the number of new donors from 2015-2016 to 2016-2017.
- Supported by community gatherings, organized each year by diverse groups of churches to invite local funding for new and existing teachers. Over the last several years, more than 100 churches have sponsored Gatherings in their local communities.
- Promoted by an active board that includes prominent leaders from throughout Hamilton County.
