Implementing In Your School

How can we start Bible history classes in our public schools like you have in the Chattanooga area?

That’s a question we frequently hear. Introducing Bible history classes into a local school or school district can be challenging. Many people have misconceptions as to the legality, necessity and historical precedent of offering Bible history electives to public school students.

But the good news is that teaching Bible in public schools is legal, necessary and, at least in Hamilton County, a tradition dating back 90 years.

In order for Bible history to be taught in your local public school, it must:

  • be requested by the principal or superintendent
  • receive broad community support
  • be 100% funded with private contributions to your local school district

In recent years, several communities have gathered to fund a Bible history teacher in their local schools. If you are interested in learning how to fund a Bible history program in your local school, please contact us at (423) 648-0500.
